Dear Western Illinois NAVHDA Chapter Members and Friends,
August sure got here fast! It seems like only yesterday we were sitting under the maple tree and going to the field
and water with Ed Erickson.
The collar clinic went very well and we had a great turn out. Ed did an excellent job of demonstrating the use of the
collar in all applications. I believe each of us took something useful away from the weekend.
Training clinics always seem to draw a lot of interest. We are open to suggestions. It is never too early to begin
thinking about next year.
The new picnic table is a terrific addition and saw plenty of use during the clinic.
AUGUST TRAINING:
When: Saturday, August 11, 2007, 8:00 AM
Where: Lost Grove Public Hunting Area - East of Eldridge, IA
You have two options for arrival:
1. We will plan to meet at the BP Station in Colona, IL at 08:00 AM and caravan to the training area.
2. You may use the attached map and directions and meet us there. We will plan on being at the site at 8:30 AM.
Directions from Eldridge: East on 45 to 220th then north. This should put you on the damn, we will be coming across
I-80 then to middle road then to 330th then north. Courtesy of Rich Runge.
NOTE:
You MUST have a valid IOWA Hunting License when training on Public Ground.

The July newsletter requested you let us know by August 1st if you were interested in running in this test. We did
hear from several folks and put them on the list . . . NOW it is IMPORTANT for you to complete the entry form and

NOTE: Several of the judges will be running dogs in NA and UT on the day they are not judging so the test will fill
