Wow, I am so far behind, I do NOT know where to begin. I have tons of things to tell you and I recommend you fire
me as secretary for starters . . . PLEASE!
Your officers and board hope you had a wonderful hunting / Thanksgiving & Christmas holiday season. It is such a
hectic time of year but we hope you had plenty of time for family, dogs, and yourselves.
OK, down to business!
2007 Chapter Annual Meeting: The 2007 Western Illinois annual meeting is scheduled for Saturday, January 27th,
at Mike Murphy’s residence, 222 – 7th Street, Colona, IL 61241. 309.792.2888 (See attached map) We will meet at
11:00 AM till ?????. Please bring a dish to share. This is a good time to use some of that wild game. We also need
side dishes and desserts. Bring your own drinks, table service, and chairs!
This is a planning meeting for 2007 and an election year. Be prepared with your suggestions for events and
nominations for officers. We need to elect a President; Vice-President/Training Director; Secretary; Treasurer; and
Board member. The officers and board serve a two (2) year term. The Chapter can always use NEW blood. If you
are interested in running for office, please speak up!
We did go ahead a schedule a fun hunt in the hopes of raising funds but we need to know what else you would like
to do this year. Do you want to conduct a test or training clinic?
Where do you want to hold meetings and when?
Dues are Due: Actually, thanks to my being behind, dues are past due. The
membership years runs from January 1 through December 31. Dues are $25.00 if paid before January 31st. Dues
are $30.00 if paid after January 31st. So, do not procrastinate! Sit down, make that check out and mail it today to:

Fun Hunt / Trap Shoot 2007: Saturday, February 10, 2007 at 8:00 AM. I have attached a flyer for you to print out.
Please share it with your friends. The fun hunt has always been a good time and this year will be no exception. Two
notable changes have been made.
Entries MUST be pre-paid by February 3rd so the birds may be reserved and
food purchased. Last year the chapter had to pay for birds leftover when we didn’t get the expected turnout.
Note: If we do not have a minimum of 10 prepaid entries the event will be cancelled and we will only conduct a
training day.
A rain date has been set for Saturday, April 14th.
The location will be at Houtekier’s For The Birds, 11625 – 204th Street W.,

Wag Brags: Several members participated in NAVHDA test this fall. Some prized
and some did not but all the handlers and dogs deserve a lot of credit for putting in
the time and effort. I will try to post everyone. If I forget, please don’t be offended, just drop me a note and I’ll include
